Dr. Mike Walter -- IBA Faculty Advisor

  • Dr. Walter was appointed as a Harbor Commissioner in 2005 by Mayor Beverly O'Neill to a term that expires in 2011 and previously served as a Water Commissioner for the City of Long Beach.
  • Dr. Walter is the Executive Assistant to the President for Community Relations at California State University, Long Beach and is a former Dean of the CSULB College of Business Administration. He is also Professor of International Business at the CSULB.
  • Dr. Walter is a former Chair of the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and a former President of the International Business Association.
  • Dr. Walter is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Saint Mary Medical Center and is a member of the Board for:
    • The National Conference for Community and Justice
    • The Boys and Girls Club
    • Leadership Long Beach
    • Workforce Development
    • The Queen Mary Preservation Committee
    • The St. Mary Medical Center Foundation
  • Dr. Walter is a former Senior Vice President and member of the Office of the President of Levi Strauss & Co.
  • Prior to joining CSULB as Dean of the College of Business Administration, Dr. Walter served as the Dean of Saint Mary's College of California where he held an endowed chair as Distinguished Professor of Economics and Business Administration.
  • Dr. Walter holds a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa.
