Our Mission

The mission of CNSA is to foster nursing education, facilitate early unity among our future colleagues in nursing, and to optimize the nursing student's exposure to the numerous specialties and pathways in the ever-changing field of nursing.

Our Purpose

  • To assume responsibility for contributing to nursing education in order to provide the highest quality health care.
  • To provide programs representative of fundamental and current professional interest and concerns.
  • To aid in the development of the whole person, including the professional role, and responsibility for the health care of people in all walks of life.
  • To have direction put into the standards of nursing education andinfluence the education process.
  • To influence health care, nursing education, and practice through legislative activities.
  • To promote participation in community affairs, improved health care and the resolution of related social issues.
  • To represent nursing students' who participate in interdisciplinary activities.
  • To encourage and promote opportunities for underrespresented students in nursing and in CSNA-CSULB.
  • To promote and encourage collaborative relationships with the California League for Nursing, the California Nurses Association, the International council of Nurses, as well as all the other nursing and health-related organizations.
