CSULB INNOVATION CHALLENGE

Challenge:

Your challenge is to create Monetary/Social value for an assigned, everyday object in Six Days.

Challenge Kicks Off : Thursday, Feb26th at 10:00 am.

Closes : Wednesday, March 4th at 5:00 pm.

Students will be given Three Objects to choose from to create Value. Remember, Value comes from actually implementing your idea and delivering results. To be successful, challenge assumptions, seize opportunities, be creative, and Make it Happen!

Procedures:

  • Students are encouraged to form teams to take on the challenge. Teams can be of any size.
  • Please see example videos of value created from Water-Bottle/Post-it-Notes at http://www.youtube.com/group/sie08 for intelligibility.
  • Registration begins on Monday, Feb 9th, 2009. Registration Closes on Thursday, Feb 26th at 9:00am.
  • Please fill out the Registration Form and e-mail it to siecsulb@gmail.com . We will send you an acknowledgement upon receiving your form.
  • We will launch the tournament and announce the three mystery object’s on Thursday, Feb 26 at 10:00am in VEC 518. We will announce them on our website and send emails to registered teams.
  • Teams should finalize their object and let us know the object they are working on through e-mail by Saturday, Feb 28th - 10:00am.
  • Create a video showing what you have done or make a 5 page report along with pictures. Videos should be three minutes or less in length. Students can either upload their video on YouTube SIE group at http://www.youtube.com/group/sie08 or email us. Reports must be emailed.
  • All videos and reports will be judged on 1-100 scale using the following criteria: creativity, innovation, efficiency, reachability and collaboration.
  • Videos will be evaluated based on the content, not video production quality.

Judges will review the winning videos and the winning submissions will be announced and displayed on Tuesday, March 17 during the Innovation Challenge Showcase at the USU- Ballroom from 3pm-5pm.
