Open-access (OA) publishing for research articles is growing in popularity; OA publications have more than doubled in the past 5 years as more faculty wish to maximize the accessibility of their work. Many OA journals are highly regarded by researchers and have high impact factors. At CSULB, OA publications currently account for 10% of annual faculty publications, and the proportion aligns with the global trend: 13% of all 2017 publications on Web of Science were OA.   California State University, Long Beach is not eligible for AREA (R15) NIH grants California State University, Long Beach is currently not eligible for the NIH AREA (R15) award program. This status applies to all upcoming R15 proposal submissions (There will be no negative implications, if a submission has already been made).  
Call for Proposals 2019-20 ORSP Multidisciplinary Research Grant   The Office of Research & Sponsored Programs (ORSP) is supporting the Multidisciplinary Research Grant program to promote proposal submission for major external funding. We encourage and currently accept only multidisciplinary research collaborations and partnerships. Applications to develop full proposals on a fundable topic are eligible. Funds are to be used in AY 2019-20.
Academic Affairs, in collaboration with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, is pleased to invite applications for the Summer Student Research Assistantship Program. This program is designed to encourage student participation in a broad range of scholarly and academic activities and is open to eligible undergraduates and graduates from all disciplines and academic areas of study.
