CSULB Ranked No.1 Nationally in New Social Mobility Report

Cal State Long Beach is ranked No. 1 in the nation for its impact in driving social mobility, according to a new ranking published by Education Reform Now, a national think tank and advocacy organization for the American public education system.

The No. 1 ranking comes on the heels of an annual Social Mobility Index report by CollegeNET last month, in which The Beach was ranked No. 5, climbing two spots from the previous year.

Education Reform Now identified only 614 four-year colleges and universities where students with Pell Grants are more likely to graduate than drop out and where federal loan repayment and default rates are better than the average for four-year institutions. The 614 institutions were ranked based on their share of Pell Grant students enrolled, Pell Grant student graduation rates, and the number of Pell Grant students served.

Three national rankings by Money.com place CSULB in the Top 1% of public universities in the nation. The Beach is also among the top universities nationally in awarding degrees to Hispanic students and ranks No. 4 in campus diversity
