CSULB among top universities nationally for degrees to Hispanics

Cal State Long Beach is No. 7 in the nation for awarding bachelor's degrees to Hispanic students, according to the recent "Top 100 Colleges and Universities for Hispanics” listing published in Hispanic Outlook on Education magazine. 

In addition, the university ranked No. 10 for total number of master's degrees conferred to Hispanic students, jumping six spots from last year’s rankings. 

Cal State Long Beach has the 14th-largest Hispanic enrollment in the country among four-year institutions. 

In Top 10 degrees awarded by major, CSULB ranked:

  • No. 1 in family and consumer sciences/human sciences degrees 
  • No. 3 in visual and performing arts degrees
  • No. 5 in philosophy and religious studies degrees
  • No. 6 in communication studies
