Cal State Long Beach’s Giving Tuesday campaign helped raise more than $15,000 for Beach Pantry, an on-campus food pantry that helps serve students who might be facing food insecurity.

Giving Tuesday, which was December 3, was a perfect reminder to help spread holiday cheer amidst the hustle and bustle of the season. Cal State Long Beach used the event to launch its Feed a Need campaign to the campus community, alumni, students, local residents and anyone else who is interested in giving back to a greater cause.

Food insecurity in higher education is prevalent. During the last academic year, 5,637 students visited the on-campus food pantry.

Help Cal State Long Beach raise enough money to keep Beach Pantry up and running for the year 2020. The donation page has several levels to choose from: $25 provides one student food for a week, $100 provides a student a month’s worth of food and $250 will provide food for 10 students for a week.

The Feed a Need Campaign will run through January 1.
