In this episode of “No Barriers,” hosted by Cal State Long Beach President Jane Close Conoley, guest panelists Kerry Johnson, Duan Jackson and Daniel Gleason discuss “High Touch, High Tech Academic Advising.”

The program examines the critical role academic advising plays in student success. The panelists explain how faculty, staff and peer advisors are trained to help students make the most of their undergraduate experience, meet degree requirements and graduate.

“We cannot overstate how important student success is to our community,” Conoley said. “In fact, you can say that it’s at the very heart of what we do. And we do it in what I like to call a ‘high touch, high tech’ way. It’s a personal, proactive approach by the university that keeps students involved in their own success.”

Conoley began hosting shows on Beach TV last year as a way to give viewers the opportunity to learn more about the campus and promote universty's "No Barriers" message.
