Navigating Grad Studies at the Beach

Welcome to Navigating Grad Studies at the Beach!

As a grad student, there is a lot of information you need to know in addition to academic knowledge—for example, how to access your student email account or how to buy a parking permit. In the past, finding this information required searching through multiple web pages, which can take valuable time away from important goals like studying, working, or conducting research. Navigating Grad Studies at the Beach solves this problem, by providing a centralized online space for all grad students to learn about campus resources, student support services, and the path to graduation.

You can use the menus located at the top to find information tailored to your current academic status, such as “Prospective Students” or “New & Continuing Students.” You can also use the menu on the left to locate specific information by topic, such as “Funding,” or “Preparing for Graduation.” One highlight of these topics is “Succeeding at the Beach,” which offers unique and valuable information on maintaining your overall wellbeing during your graduate studies, and includes sections on managing finances, succeeding at academic writing, and dealing with imposter syndrome.

As a supplement to your program/department orientation, Navigating Grad Studies at the Beach provides valuable information available 24/7 online. We hope that this information will be a helpful reference and ongoing source of support during your time at CSULB.

Go Beach!
