Dr. Martha Cistrunk Brown is an adjunct Professor at CSULB in Music Education and Liberal Studies. Her education includes a BME Degree from Roosevelt University, Chicago; MM Music Education Degree, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo; Master of Arts Degree (Music Therapy) Degree from University of Kansas, Lawrence; DMA Degree from USC.

Dr. Brown has served the California Music Educators Association, Southern Section, as secretary for six years, and is currently a nominee for 1st Vice President. She is a retired teacher of more than 30 years, serving the Los Angeles and Long Beach Unified Schools. During her active teaching career in grades K-12 she served as department chairperson, sat on numerous and varied school and district committees, was a mentor teacher, and received numerous awards and citations for her innovative teaching strategies.
