Kate Gillon joined the Department of Music in Fall 2000, assuming a new position of Media/Performance Coordinator.  In her 18 years of service to CSULB she has worked in Enrollment Services, the departments of Comparative World Literature and Classics, English, Journalism, Staff Personnel, and Audio Visual Services.  She has also worked for Vice President Marilyn Jensen, conducting Academic Probation workshops for CSULB students and taught a two week course for NASA through the MESA Program, “Introduction to Grammar and Literature,” summers 1999-2003.

Kate assists in the development of funds for each area of instrumentation through donation requests and hosting special music department events both on and off campus. She has helped to increase the department audience from 47 to 1,863 interested patrons and alumni.  She maintains all database information for the department and helps generate program materials and publicity for approximately 56 performances/concerts each semester.
