Christine Hayes has been teaching trombone at California State University, Long Beach since 2004. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in music education from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee in 2000, and a Master of Music degree in trombone performance from CSULB in 2004. She also teaches at Millikan High School, Emerson Elementary School, and maintains a small studio of private students.

Christine currently plays in the Golden State Pops Orchestra and the Emerald Street Brass Quintet and has also performed with the Burbank Philharmonic, Olympia Philharmonic, Rio Hondo Symphony, Cypress Pops Orchestra, Pacific Brass, and many other ensembles. She recently received an honorable mention at the International Women’s Brass Conference solo competition in June 2006, where she performed a newly composed trombone concerto written by James Woodward. Her teachers include Richard Kimball, Noreen Harris-Baer, James Miller, Jeffrey Reynolds, and Alex Iles.
