SYLLABUS ART 499Q/599Q
Spring 2000 Course Title: Art 499Q/599Q Independent Studies Fridays 4 PM- 5 PM
Instructor: Marina Freeman
Course Description: This is not a lecture-based course, but rather a
project-driven class. I will meet with you individually to decide what
you will do. If you are working on a master's degree, studio project,
or other research project, you might want to add a museum component.
Otherwise, I will assign you to a current museum project/and or staff member
for the duration of the semester. At the end of the course, there
must be a tangible result of your work. We will meet once a week for questions
and progress reports.
Requirements: 1. Write a two-page paper (typed, double spaced) about your goals in
this class. Why are you taking it? What kind of job in a museum
do you want? If you have no idea about these things, put your questions
down instead.
