“Financial Health” Classes Available
Along with joining that gym as part of your New Year’s resolution, January is always a great time to examine your financial health as well.
David Harrison, an estate planning attorney in University Relations and Development (UR&D), and Delia Fernandez, a certified financial planner, will be teaching a six-week-long series called “Your Financial Health,” offered to faculty and staff.
The first class will take place on Jan. 20, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Health and Human Services 1 Bldg. (HHS1), Room 105. The final five classes will be held on consecutive Fridays, Jan. 27 through Feb. 24, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., in HHS1, Room 205
Among the topics scheduled to be covered are retirement investment strategies and plans, covering 403(b), TSA, 401(k) and 457 plans; portfolio diversification, covering PERS, IRAs, stocks, bonds and funds; and information to help elderly parents or friends.
