Kaleidoscope Academic Day

Students from the Women's Studies 424 class, “Women and Environmental Justice: Ecofeminism” presented puppet shows on environmental issues to celebrate Earth Day.
Nearly 1,900 students from 15 schools in five
area districts visited CSULB on April 22 for the annual Kaleidoscope Academic
Day, sponsored by the Academic Projects Office. More than 60 workshops and
exhibits hosted by CSULB faculty, staff and guest presenters provided students
with hands-on experiences in topics ranging from art and dance to computers,
math, natural sciences and social sciences.
The program also included an Earth Day celebration hosted by the Department of Women's Studies and the Pagan Alliance. The event included presentations by Women's Studies students, the Parrot Project, El Dorado Park Nature Center, Center for Tactical Magic, the proposed Long Beach liquid natural gas terminal, CSULB fiber artists, and the CSULB Environmental Science and Policy Club.

Volunteers from Guide Dogs for the Blind—L.A. Southwest Guide Dog Raisers introduced students to several service dogs.
