
Billy Falcon & The Wild Kats
Entering its 29th season of providing entertainment under the stars, the
Saturday evening Concerts in the Grove series at CSULB will run from July
16 through Aug. 20, featuring a variety of musical performances in the Hollywood
Bowl-type atmosphere of the Soroptimist House terrace, located just off State
University Drive.
The gates open at 6 p.m. for concert-goers who wish to bring picnic suppers
prior to the 7:30 p.m. program under the stars. Admission is $20.

Tommy Tassi and The Authentics
Back by popular demand and rated one of the best bands by concert audiences,
Tommy Tassi and the Authentics are an oldies band that has been entertaining
and pleasing audiences of all ages since 1978. It can perform many requests
due to their myriad repertoire of the popular hits from the 1950s, ‘60s and
‘70s. Lead vocalist Tommy Tassi, who has an uncanny ability to sound like
many of the legendary artists, has guided the band to their popularity and
success.

Billy Falcon and The Wild Kats
Billy Falcon and The Wild Kats play a unique blend of rockabilly and jump
swing blues. Based in Orange County, the band has played at various car shows,
festivals and other upscale social events including CSULB's own Jewels of
the Night. Band members include Billy Falcon on guitar and vocals, Dirty Bird
on guitar and vocals, Lonesome Rick on bass and vocals, Wet Willie on harmonica
and vocals, Cad Zoots on sax and Mad Mike on drums.

Elm Street Band
This Long Beach group boasts alumni of CSULB, Long Beach City College, Millikan
High and Stanford Junior High. These four venerable rockers have jammed together
in various combinations for almost 40 years. The Long Beach Press-Telegram
calls them “the soundtrack for the City of Long Beach.” The highly acclaimed
“oldies” band performs vintage Top 40 and popular tunes from the '40s through
the '70s like “Mustang Sally” and “Some Kind of Wonderful.” If you like Elvis,
The Beatles and the Eagles, you will love the Elm Street Band.

Breezin
Breezin is a versatile, four-piece group that brings high-energy dance music
with an emphasis on vocal performances that blend together to create rich,
tight harmonies and rhythmic interpretations. Its ability to perform a repertoire
of popular hits from the 1960s, '70s and '80s will keep all ages singing and
toe tapping to rock 'n' roll, disco, jazz, blues and R&B music. Breezin
has 20 years of live performance experience in the hottest dance spots throughout
Southern California.
All proceeds from Concerts in the Grove help to finance CSULB's emergency student
loans, campus grants to worthy programs, student scholarships and numerous alumni
programs throughout the year. Thanks to community generosity, the number of
grants and available dollars has steadily grown, and Concerts in the Grove continues
its commitment to support the university's educational programs of excellence.
