New Job Search Tool Now Available

The CSULB Career Development Center (CDC) launched a new job search tool for students, CSULB staff and alumni on Jan. 7. The new job database, BeachLINK, enables employers to post current openings ranging from part-time jobs and internships for students, to executive positions for experienced alumni. The job database is powered by Symplicity and managed by the CDC. BeachLINK will make it easier to manage job search needs at the user's convenience ? 24 hours a day, seven days a week ? on campus, or from the convenience of your home computer .

"BeachLINK gives us the ability to provide a higher level of service to our customers---students, alumni, faculty and staff," said Robin Lee, director of CSULB's Career Development Center. "With so many internet-based job search sites available, we definitely didn't want to switch to a new vendor unless we found good reason to do it. BeachLINK is a much more interactive and cutting-edge product over our old vendor, MonsterTRAK, and we felt a switch was the right move to make."

BeachLINK will contain searchable listings for undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni seeking part- and full-time positions, internships, and on- and off-campus jobs. It also includes an interview sign-up service, on-campus recruitment (OCR). By logging on to BeachLINK, you can:

  • Surf all job listings and on-campus interview opportunities, including company descriptions, job titles and qualifications
  • Upload and save resumes and cover letters tailored to specific employer's requirements
  • Submit your resume and reply to job listings online
  • Sign up for on-campus recruitment (OCR) ? interviews taking place on-campus
  • Organize and keep track of your interviews and job search activities
  • View dates for employer information sessions
  • Create job search agents that will send you an e-mail when a job is posted that meets your employment preferences
  • Include your resume in a school resume book for viewing by potential employers
