Councilman Baker to Discuss “Senior Issues and The City”
During Winter Registration Meeting for Senior University

Dan Baker, Long Beach city councilman from the second district, will speak at the Senior University's winter registration meeting on Saturday, Jan. 8, at 10 a.m. The meeting will be held in the Human Services and Design building, Room 100, near the corner of Palo Verde Avenue and Anaheim Road. Free parking will be available in Lot 9 for this event.

Baker will discuss “Senior Issues and the City” that affect the more than 500 members of Senior University and all members of the Long Beach community.

During the registration, participants will have 42 classes to choose from for the winter session. Each quarter Senior University at CSULB offers eight-week classes for adults 50 years of age or older. The classes are taught by former industry experts, current and emeriti university professors as well as those with special interests. Yearly registration is $40, with classes costing from $10.

Senior University was established nearly a decade ago and membership has grown from 50 to more than 500 students. It is a place for learning, sharing ideas and making friends.
