Members of CSULB and the Long Beach community gathered to honor
Mike and Arline Walter for their generosity. Walter, dean of the
College of Business Administration from 1993-99, and his wife have
donated $2.1 million to support 49er Athletics and academics.
In a move that adds to California State University, Long Beach's
increasing visibility and high standing among educational institutions,
The Boeing Company has agreed to donate five patents to the university
with a fair market value of $2.4 million, it was announced by President
Robert C. Maxson.
Shun-Lin Chou is more than an accomplished artist and educator;
he is a musical detective. The associate professor of music has
become a collector of old scores and points with pride to texts
dating from 1800 sealed in acid-free folders.
