Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest Deadline Dec. 13
The California Black Faculty and Staff Association Chapter at CSULB is sponsoring a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. essay contest for CSULB faculty and staff.
The theme for all essays must be “Living the Dream: Confronting Challenges and Controversies.” Faculty and staff can submit an original typed essay of no more than 250 words which addresses how they are “Living the Dream” by confronting challenges and controversies in their life and/or community. The essays will be judged by a panel of three faculty and staff. The panel does not know entrants' names at the time of judging.
Essay winners will be asked to participate in a video production of their essays. This video production will be presented at the Sixth Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Thursday, Jan. 13, noon-1:30 p.m. The event will be held at CSULB's, Small Auditorium in the University Student Union. The winners will be formally recognized and presented with an award at the celebration.
The essay entry deadline is Monday, Dec. 13. Essays must be submitted by the above date to Zella D. Johnson, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Celebration Planning Committee, Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, HHS2-103. Essays may also be e-mailed to Johnson. Winners will be notified Friday, Dec. 17.
