Wang Faculty Stipends Available; Application Deadline is Dec. 1

When California State University Trustee Stanley T. Wang established The Wang Family Scholarship in 2000, it was to provide an opportunity to talented and distinguished faculty and students who will profit from an international learning experience and use this knowledge to contribute to business and personal relations between the United States, Taiwan and the People's Republic of China.

The faculty component of The Wang Family Scholarship will provide four $10,000 stipends to be awarded annually for a period of 10 years. The stipends are designated to be used for research or teaching at designated universities in Taiwan and China.

To be eligible, applicants must be full-time, tenured or tenure-track faculty at a CSU campus with a Ph.D., or appropriate terminal degree and have appropriate Chinese language proficiency. Former Wang recipients are not eligible to reapply.

The Faculty Affairs Committee of the Academic Council for International Programs will review all applications and recommend recipients to the Academic Affairs Division of the Chancellor's Office.

Completed applications are due no later than Wednesday, Dec. 1. For specific application instructions visit its Web site.
