While it may be true that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, there's still the chance it may kill you. When applied to the world stage, this balancing act between cure and kill can become what political science's Larry George calls a “pharmakotic war.”


The second annual Sylvia Maxson 49er Gold Rush Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, Nov. 15, at Recreation Park Golf Course in Long Beach. The event is named after Maxson because of her tremendous support of women's athletics.

KABC on CampusCSULB Featured on KABC-TV

Some 150 students from CSULB braved the early morning hours and camped it up with KABC-TV weatherman Garth Kemp on Oct. 21, as the campus was featured during the network affiliate's second annual "College Week" presentation.

This year's Koi Auction will be held at the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden, on the CSULB campus, Sunday, Nov. 21. Conducted by members of the Zen Nippon Airinkai Koi Club of Southern California and Japanese Garden staff and volunteers, the auction will begin with a preview of the colorful koi fish.
Toy Drive

Toy Drive in 7th Year

Now, through Friday, Dec. 17, CSULB will be holding its seventh annual Cherishing Children Toy Drive for needy children. The toy drive is sponsored by staff, students, faculty and alumni.
