The Purchasing Office will sponsor its 13th annual CSULB “Campus Supplier Exposition” on Tuesday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the University Student Union. All staff and faculty are invited to attend the event.

The Campus Supplier Expo is an exhibition where selected vendors/suppliers come to the show and demonstrate their products and services, often featuring new and improved items. The event features more than 40 vendors who have been invited to the show to demonstrate their products, including businesses that sell computers, filing systems, office furniture, office supplies, printed forms, janitorial, lab supplies and classroom furniture.

Of special interest this year will be presentations on printer maintenance from various vendors with whom CSULB has just recently negotiated contracts for this service (various pricing plans – cost per copy, monthly, annual, etc). Magazine Mall, a subscription firm with whom CSULB has recently negotiated a contract, will be on hand with special offers guaranteed to save money on both office and personal subscriptions to periodicals.

As in the past, representatives from Office Depot will be on hand with many of its suppliers to demonstrate the latest in office supplies. In addition, Office Depot will have information on how employees can get contract pricing on personal purchases made at their stores. Also attending will be Prison Industries Authority, Steelcase, and a host of other companies also will attend along with on-campus suppliers such as the Department Copier Program, Print Shop and Mail Operations will also be on hand.

No sales take place, but suppliers usually have free samples to give out. Sometimes the supplier likes to exchange the free sample for a business card. Lucky attendees may win one of several door prizes, and everyone is invited for coffee and a donut.
