Beach Bash Set For Oct. 10
On Sunday, Oct. 10, the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) at CSULB will hold its annual kick-off event, “Beach Bash” from 3 to 6 p.m. A dodge ball tournament, a barbeque, and an address from President Robert C. Maxson will highlight this year's event, which has been aptly renamed this year “Prospector Pete's Beach Bash Olympics.”
“This year we want to get everyone involved," said SAAC president Kevin Cape. “Boosters, parents, faculty, the student body that supports us, we want to see them all there. We want to help grow the campus community.” Admission to the event is free for students, while boosters and parents can get tickets for $10 by calling The Pyramid box office at 562/985-4949.
The price of admission includes all-day access to the day's events and the barbeque. Students will receive food on a first-come, first-served basis following the paying guests. Anyone interested in participating in the day's events can contact Sally Bulquerin in the Beach Pride Center at 562/985-2519 or Morgan Wheeler of the Associated Students, Inc. at 562/985-5241.
The SAAC serves the student-athlete community at CSULB by providing opportunities to become involved socially and through community service, as well as protecting the general welfare of the student-athlete community.
