Hector Neff, associate professor of anthropology at CSULB, was named to Guatemala's Academy of Geography and History, a rare honor in recognition of his 25 years of research in the Central American nation.

Kim-Oanh Nguyen-Lam, interim director of CSULB's Center for Language Minority Education and Research (CLMER), received $44,800 from the Tracy School District for the Delta Island School English Language Development Instruction project.

For most people, an ideal summer vacation involves suntan lotion and a beach resort along the Pacific Ocean, a camping getaway in the mountains with family and friends or even amusement park visits with names like Disney, Universal, Sea World or Legoland.
