Awards and Grants

Frederick Wegener, an associate professor of English, is on leave in 2004 to research images of medical women in post-Civil War America thanks to a $50,000 publication grant from the National Institutes of Health’s National Library of Medicine.

Psychology’ professor Tom Strybel is directing the Advanced Air Vehicle/Air Traffic Management Simulation Research Center (AAV/ATM SRC) at CSULB with the support of approximately $200,000 in donations and contracts from The Boeing Company’s Southern California Air Force Systems and Huntington Beach Site organizations.

Kristin Powers, an assistant professor in Educational Psychology, Administration and Counseling, is participating in the second year of a $70,000 sub-contract from Oregon Health Science University to examine how gender impacts transition planning for students with disabilities.
