The President’s Commission on the Status of Women
Seeks Nominations for Advancement of Women Awards

The President’s Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW) at CSULB is seeking nominations for its Sixth Annual Advancement of Women Awards.

The Advancement of Women Awards honor students, faculty members including lecturers, staff members and administrators who have actively contributed to the advancement of women at CSULB.

All women and men who are current members of the campus community are eligible for the award (with the exception of current PCSW commissioners). Pink nomination forms will be distributed campus wide in early February.

One person from each category is selected and each honoree will receive a plaque and will be recognized at the Spring Women’s Research Colloquium on Wednesday, April 23. In addition, the honorees’ names will be included on a perpetual plaque displayed in the Women’s Resource Center.

Submitted packets must include a completed nomination form and a letter of nomination detailing the work that the candidate has done for women at CSULB and why that work is significant. Also required is a personal statement written by the nominee (maximum three pages) and a resume of relevant activities, achievements and awards.

The deadline for receiving nomination packets is Monday, March 3. Nomination materials should be submitted only in hardcopy to the Office of University Ombuds, Foundation Building, Suite 140.

For more information about the awards and the nominating process, or for additional nomination forms, please contact the University Ombuds at 562/985-9001.
