CSULB will host “Healthy, Wealthy and Wise,” a six-week financial course that will be held on consecutive Thursdays from March 6 through April 10. Each class is scheduled from noon-1:30 p.m. and will be held in Education Building 2, Room 158. Those in attendance are welcome to bring their lunch.
Presented by the Office of Estate and Gift Planning, the classes are open to all faculty and staff, but is on a first-come, first-served basis. Classes are free with no obligation and no selling of any kind will take place. In addition, you do not have to attend all six sessions, though it is encouraged.
The discussion will be led by CSULB’s Susan Berkman, assistant vice president for estate and gift planning; Susan Knopick, director of development for estate and gift planning; Michael McGuire, an elder law attorney; and Delia Fernandez, a certified financial planner.
“This is one way we can help faculty and staff who want to learn about preparing for retirement; this will give people general, basic information,” Berkman explained. “We will also be covering a lot of different areas not dealing specifically with retirement issues.”
Topics to be covered include retirement investment strategies, portfolio diversification, tax strategies and asset protection through estate planning. The specific schedule is:
