Supervisory Certificate Program

Staff Human Resources is now offering a new in-house training certificate program which will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 5.

Designed for those members of a bargaining unit who are new to the supervisor’s  role at the university, this program consists of a course of seven lectures offered over a three-month period. Each lecture covers a new topic that builds on the knowledge gained from the previous sessions.

This intensive learning experience is designed to cover must-know information and skills needed to be successful as a supervisor. Some of the sessions in the program include guiding individual performance, your team, the work, and a discussion of regulations, the law, safety and risk management issues, as well as other important topics related to the role of a supervisor.

Specifically designed for new supervisors, this certificate program is different from the MPP only Essentials for Managers certificate program.

Enrollment is limited and is by invitation only.  If you are a supervisor, new to your role, and are interested in joining this program, contact your administrative services manager.

This program is brought to you by Staff Training and Development, part of Staff Human Resources. Staff Training and Development offers a variety of exciting professional development seminars and informative skills-based training to campus staff and managers. Every year it helps, inspires, and trains hundreds of employees across the campus.

Since 2005, it has doubled the number of training hours offered and in 2007 added nine new programs created and delivered in response to campus needs. It now offers more than 500 classroom hours every year.

Staff Training and Development offers a wide range of classes and programs to help individuals meet professional goals, advance their knowledge, or position them for the next big career move. Some of those classes include the following:
