Registration for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at CSULB’s fall session will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, at beginning at 9 a.m. Registration and the meeting will be held in CSULB’s Human Services and Design building, Room 101, near the corner of Palo Verde Avenue and Anaheim Road. Free parking for this event is available in Lot 9. The fall session runs from Oct. 1-Dec. 3.
OLLI offers a host of fun and exciting lecture classes this fall, including Politics 2008, Tai Chi Chih, Poetry Under the Trees, Big Bands are Back, The Return of Film Noir, Bridge, Survey of Western Philosophy III, Tour of Long Beach Historic Districts, Chorus, and many more.
Computer class offerings this session include Sweet Open Office Suite, Surfing and Searching the Internet, Easy Computer Typing, Introduction to the Mac, Convert Your Movies to DVD, Photoshop Elements I & II, and many others, which are conducted in a 10-seat bilingual lab (PC and Mac) by skilled instructors.
OLLI at CSULB, established more than a decade ago as Senior University, has continually provided learning opportunities for adults 50 years of age and over, growing from 50 student members in 1996 to nearly 900 students annually.
OLLI classes are taught by current or emeriti CSULB professors, industry experts, CSULB graduate students and President’s Scholars, or peer led by OLLI members.
The annual membership fee for OLLI at CSULB is $40, pro-rated to $20 for both the spring and summer sessions. Tuition is $10 per lecture class and $45 per computer class. In addition, computer classes require an annual $40 SeniorNet membership fee.
