Professors Lesley Farmer and Michelle Saint-Germain have been honored as recipients of this year’s Distinguished Faculty Scholarly and Creative Achievement Award at CSULB. The two were recognized recently at the campus’ 2007 University Achievement Awards celebration.
Economics’ Lisa Grobar, Joe Maggadino and Kristen Monaco recently received a $120,000 grant from the Port of Long Beach for a year-long research project involving 12 CSULB students doing coursework and research.
Carl Lipo, an archaeologist in the College of Liberal Arts, recently received $100,000 in funding through 2010 from the National Science Foundation to research the cultural transmission of ceramic technology among hunter-gatherer populations of the Owens and Death Valleys in collaboration with UC Davis faculty member Jelmer Eerkens.
The California Air Resources Board has awarded a one-year, $98,837 grant to the Center for Energy and Environmental Research and Services at CSULB for a project that will survey and assess emission control technologies for ocean going vessels.
