Dan Monson has been named the new men’s basketball coach at CSULB, becoming the 16th head coach in 49er men’s basketball history. Monson has been a Division I coach for 10 years, first at Gonzaga University and most recently at the University of Minnesota. In those 10 seasons, he has a record of 170-123 with seven trips to post-season play. At Minnesota for seven-plus years, Monson compiled a 118-105 mark and reached post-season play in five times.
