Applications are being accepted until 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, for the Dorothy de Araujo Memorial Scholarship for an undergraduate or graduate student whose parents or grandparents are staff employees or retirees of CSULB and its auxiliaries. Students must have a minimum overall 3.0 GPA and be enrolled in 12 or more units. Families of faculty members are not eligible.
The $500 book scholarship is given by the Staff Emeriti Association in honor of de Araujo, a CSULB staff emerita and alumna. She worked at the university from 1959-83 and earned her B.F.A. degree in 1992 in drawing and painting at the age of 72. On Sept. 11, 2001, she was on a plane returning to California and passed away in the tragedy in New York City.
For an application form or more information, contact Gay Arakawa in Alumni Relations, USU 111 or by phone at 562-985-7880.
