The campus community is invited to attend a book signing event with Kathy Kohner Zuckerman, “The Real Gidget,” a young woman who broke into the male-dominated sport of surfing at Malibu Beach in the summer of 1956. The event, which is part of the CSULB Odyssey Project, will be held on Tuesday, May 23, from 1:15 to 2:45 p.m., in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute-Senior University, Human Services and Design building, Room 101.
Come and hear “the girl midget” as Kohner Zuckerman reminisces about learning to surf with Moondoggie and the Big Kahuna and shares her photos of the movies and television show that told her story. Following the presentation, Kohner Zuckerman will sign copies of her book titled, what else, Gidget, which also will be available for purchase.
Due to limited seating, reservations are required via phone, 562-985-8732, or e-mail Barbara McClinton at firstname.lastname@example.org.
