Receives $1.28M Grant

The College of Education has been awarded a five-year $1.28 million grant by the U.S. Department of Education for a program that will enable it to prepare 75 math and science teachers for the alternative education programs run by the Orange County Department of Education.

Facilities Management
Earns Governor’s Award

Agroup of 17 employees from the Facilities Management Safety Response Team received the Governor’s State Employee Safety Award for its efforts in responding to a flooded building on the campus and preventing what could have been an electrical explosion or fire.

ASI Receives Grant
to Train Poll Workers

Associated Students Inc. was one of just 19 organizations nationwide to receive a federal grant from the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) to develop a program that will recruit and train college students to serve as poll workers/assistants in Los Angeles County.

Talent Search Program
Receives $703,426

The Educational Information Services / Talent Search Program has been selected to receive two awards totaling $703,426 from the U.S. Department of Education to continue its educational opportunity outreach efforts with students in local middle schools and high schools.

Award Winning Publication

University Publications received a 2006 American Graphic Design Award from Graphic Design USA for a special edition of The Lantern.
