Ergonomics Workshop for CSULB Employees Scheduled for Oct. 14Published: September 15, 2009
On Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m.-noon, CSULB’s Safety and Risk Management will be holding an interactive two-hour workshop to provide employees with information on applying fundamental ergonomic principles to their workstations. The workshop will be held in Facilities Management Training Room 103. Seating is limited to 25 persons.
Ergonomic assessment techniques, basic equipment selection, positioning, and posture, and work place exercises will be demonstrated. The workshop will provide CSULB employees with the skills and tools necessary to perform their own workstation evaluations and make the changes necessary to establish a productive and comfortable workstation.
Topics covered in the workshop will include:
• Types of ergonomic stressors
• Chair adjustments
• Proper dimensions for desktop equipment
• Proper desktop layout
• Workstation lighting requirements
• Stress reduction exercises
