Fall Registration, General Meeting for OLLI Held Sept. 12Published: September 1, 2009
Registration for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at CSULB fall session will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, beginning at 9 a.m. A general membership meeting follows at 10 a.m. Registration and the meeting will be held in CSULB’s Human Services and Design building, Room 101, near the corner of Palo Verde Avenue and Anaheim Road. Free parking for this event is available in Lot 9. The fall session runs from Monday, Oct. 5, through Wednesday, Dec. 9.
OLLI is offering a host of lecture classes this fall, including new courses titled The Law Can be a Kick in the Pants; Yellow Brick Road to Theater and Art; Falls and Balance; The Jury System; Auto Racing; Ancient Ireland; Shakespeare Act VII; Comparative Justice; Belly Dancing; and others.
Returning this session will be Tai Chi; Beginning and Conversational Spanish; Drawing and Watercolor Workshops; Historical Walking Tour of Long Beach; and many more. For those looking to improve their health and endurance, OLLI offers Tai Chi Chih and Longevity Stick. New computer class offerings this session include Spreadsheets Solve Your Problems; Google E-mail, and more. OLLI computer classes are conducted in a 10-seat PC and Mac-equipped lab by skilled instructors.
OLLI at CSULB’s annual membership fee of $40 covers the fall, spring, winter and summer sessions. Tuition is $10 per lecture class and $45 per computer class, which also require an annual $40 SeniorNet membership. Parking permits are available for a fee.
