Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Summer Registration Held June 27

Registration for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at CSULB summer session will be held Saturday, June 27, beginning at 9 a.m. A general membership meeting follows at 10 a.m. Registration and the meeting will be held in CSULB’s Human Services and Design building, Room 101, near the corner of Palo Verde Avenue and Anaheim Road. Free parking for this event is available in Lot 9. The summer session runs from Monday, July 13 through Friday, Sept. 4.

Institute classes are taught by current and emeriti university professors, current and former industry experts, CSULB graduate students, and others with skills and knowledge in various fields and disciplines. OLLI is offering a host of exciting lecture classes this summer, including Rise of Western Civilization I, Spiritual Traditions of the West I, Timeless Design, Royal Scandals, Long Beach Renaissance and others.

Returning this session will be Self-Hypnosis for Relaxation, Longevity Stick, Drawing Workshop, Watercolor Workshop, For Women Only and many more. For those looking to improve their health and endurance, OLLI offers Health in General and Yoga: Stretch, Strengthen, and Relax. New computer class offerings this session include iTunes: It’s Your Music (PC/Mac); Connect, Reconnect, High Tech-Low Cost (Mac); and Open Office Suite (PC). OLLI computer classes are conducted in a 10-seat PC and Mac equipped lab by skilled instructors.

OLLI at CSULB’s annual membership fee of $40 covers the fall, winter, spring, and summer sessions and is prorated to $20 for the spring and summer sessions. Tuition is $10 per lecture class and $45 per computer class. Computer classes also require an annual $40 SeniorNet membership. Parking permits are available for a fee.
