Commencement Flowers Sales Volunteers Needed

Published: May 1, 2014

The Alumni Association invites staff and faculty to experience commencement in a whole new way—as a volunteer in its flower sales booth. Graduation ceremonies and flower sales will take place Tuesday-Friday, May 20-23, and members of the campus community are encouraged to show their Beach Pride as a volunteer.

The Alumni Association sells Beach bouquets and leis to the newest CSULB graduates and their families with the proceeds used for alumni-related activities throughout the year.

Many individuals hesitate to volunteer because they do not feel creative or able to build bouquets, but there is much to do beyond bouquets. Assistance is needed in the satellite sales booth locations, which involves only selling, not creating. There is also a need for individuals to serve as cashiers and sells leis in the main booth.

There are always experienced volunteers and staff members on hand so individuals do not need to be artistic, just an enthusiastic ambassador for The Beach.
