Steve Fleck, Romance/German/Russian Languages and Literatures, delivered a conference paper, “Les Comédies-Ballets et les Mondes Fictifs,” at the annual meeting of the North American Society for 17th Century French Literature held jointly with the Université Aix-Marseille in Marseille, France, on June 7.
Marquita Grenot-Scheyer, Dean of the College of Education, has been appointed to the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). This is the new accrediting body for educator preparation that combines the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and the Teacher Education Accreditation Council. The mission of CAEP is to advance excellence in educator preparation through evidence-based accreditation.
Ingrid Martin, Marketing, presented her research titled “Priming Social Motivations as a Mechanism to Avoid Ego-Defensive Responses to Anti-Smoking Messages” co-authored with Paul Connell and Michael Kamins, at the Marketing and Public Policy Conference held in Washington, D.C., on June 1. Martin also presented a paper titled “Social Marketing in the Theory and Practice of the Disaster Cycle” at the conference.
