Research Grants And Contracts Workshop Set For July 22-26Published: May 15, 2013
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at CSULB is offering a research grants and contracts orientation and writing workshop the week of July 22-26. Professional experts will be providing training during this week-long event on topics that will include the following:
—Identifying funding opportunities and customizing search parameters for direct email feed using various search engines such as SMARTS/GENIUS, GRC, the CDFA Register, NSF/NIH, etc.
—Proposal and budget preparation, submission, internal clearance routing with Cayuse 424
—HR and payroll – identifying your staffing needs and classification levels
—“Manage My Budget” including, procurement, online requisitions, P-card purchases, Verbal PO’s, delegation of authority etc.
—“Where is My Money” – Running self-service financial reports through the Data Warehouse
—Research Compliance including navigating through IRB, IACUC, FCIO, RCR
—Writing a successful proposal
—Statistical and Experimental Design
New faculty who have never submitted a proposal are strongly encouraged to attend. Registration is required for individuals who wish to attend the entire full-week workshop. Space is limited so early registration is encouraged to avoid disappointment.
Please note that registration is not required for those individuals who would simply like to attend one or more of the offered training modules.
