The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at CSULB (OLLI) will hold its spring registration and general meeting on Saturday, April 4, at 9 a.m. in the CSULB Human Services and Design building (HS&D), room 101, near the corner of Palo Verde Avenue and Anaheim Road. The spring session runs from April 20 through June 15.
Students can find out what classes are being offered, meet instructors and then register on the spot. Free parking for this event will be available in Lot 9.
The classes are taught by current and emeriti university professors, current and former industry experts, CSULB graduate students, and others with skills and knowledge in various fields and disciplines. OLLI is offering a host of exciting lecture classes this spring including several new topics — Alternative Energy in Home and Industry; Arthritis Self-Help Program; French For Travelers; I Appeal! What Happens After You Lose Your Case. Some of the courses returning this session will be Bridge; Taking Better Photos; Watercolor Workshop; For Women Only; and many more. For those looking to improve their health and endurance, OLLI offers Healthy Living; Tai Chi Chih; and Yoga: Stretch, Strengthen, and Relax. New computer class offerings this session include Excel for the MAC; It’s Your MAC; and Microsoft PowerPoint (PC/MAC). OLLI computer classes are conducted in a 10-seat PC and Mac equipped lab by skilled instructors.
CSULB’s annual membership fee of $40 covers the fall, winter, spring, and summer sessions and is prorated to $20 for the spring and summer sessions. Tuition is $10 per lecture class and $45 per computer class. Computer classes also require an annual $40 SeniorNet membership. Parking permits are available for a fee.
