Rose Show Set For May 10

Published: May 1, 2013

After a short absence, the popular CSULB Rose Show is back for the second straight year and will be held on Friday, May 10 in the Hall of Science, Room 280.

There will be no judging at this year’s event since it will be held for rose lovers to enjoy. If you would like to participate, bring your your own vases or bottles for displaying your rose(s).

Upon arriving at the event, participants will be asked to fill out a sheet of paper giving their name, affiliation, and the name of their rose. If you don’t know the name of the rose, it will be placed on a table and “experts” will try to identify it for you.

The room will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for attendees to see and smell the wide variety of roses being exhibited. All roses should be in by 11 a.m. and they can be picked up after 2 p.m. At 3 p.m. all roses not picked up will be disposed of.

Everyone who brings a rose will be given a card to fill out for a chance to win. The drawing will be at 12:30 p.m. and if you cannot be there to pick a prize, you may designate someone else to choose it and pick it up for you.
