Community Service Award Nominations Being Accepted

Published: February 15, 2013

Applications are being taken for the CSULB Community Service Award which recognizes and encourages service by members of the campus family to the community where they live. The award is sponsored by the Academic Senate, the Staff Council, the Alumni Association and the Associated Students Inc.

For qualification, a wide range of service activities are eligible including political, religious and social activism. In all cases, sustained involvement and especially significant results are considered. Special attention will be given to noteworthy accomplishments within the past 12 months. Preference will be given to unpaid volunteer service which is not part of one’s normal and expected occupational duties. Those eligible include CSULB faculty, staff, students and alumni (to include all former students and friends of the university). Self-nominations are encouraged and awardees may reapply five years after receiving an award.

Information about the award and the application deadline of Feb. 18, are available on the Staff Council Community Service Award website.
