Fall 2012 VET NET Ally Seminar

Published: September 17, 2012

Because the transition from military life to life on a college campus can be difficult, the CSULB Veterans Affairs Services Office has developed the VET NET Ally Program, a seminar geared toward educating faculty and staff about the unique needs and concerns of military service members and veterans studying on campus.

Interested faculty and staff are invited to participate in a half-day VET NET Ally training seminar on Friday, Oct. 5, from 8 a.m. to noon. Seminar attendance is limited. To reserve a seat, please contact Marshall Thomas by Friday, Sept. 21, by e-mail or at 562/985-4279.

The program fosters a campus atmosphere that supports the academic and personal success of service members and veterans and establishes a network of visible allies to provide support and assistance to CSULB students who have served in our armed forces.

At the end of the training, participants will be given a decal to display in their workspace to show they are allies to CSULB’s student veterans.
