Next CalPERS Retirement Workshop Set For Sept. 14Published: September 4, 2012
The next CalPERS retirement workshop will be held on Friday, Sept. 14, at 9:30 a.m. in the College of Business Adminstration (CBA), Room 237. All CalPERS members are welcome to attend and the workshop is highly recommended for employees who have at least five years of CalPERS service credit and are age 50-plus. Additional workshop dates will be added when they are confirmed.
Upcoming workshops will be held in the College of Business Administration on the following dates/times:
• Friday, Sept. 14, 9:30-11:30 a.m., CBA 236
• Thursday, Nov. 15, 10 a.m.-noon, CBA 240
The workshop is two hours long and is presented by the Benefits Services office on campus.
Attendees will receive a brief overview of the CalPERS program and an introduction to information available on its website. They also will be guided through the navigation of the CalPERS website and assisted in accessing the CalPERS online retirement calculator; service credit purchase information and the annual member statement. Information also will be provided on benefits at retirement and the CalPERS retirement application process.
This workshop is presented in a computer lab setting for hands-on learning so seating is limited. Reservations are required and are first-come first-served. To find and register for a workshop that fits your schedule, access Current Training Opportunities on the Benefit Services website.
Once registered, you will receive an e-mail confirmation. Since workshops are held during normal working hours, it is recommended that you get approval from your appropriate administrator.
