Volunteers Sought For Three Days Of Commencement ActivitiesPublished: May 15, 2012
The CSULB Alumni Association invites staff and faculty members to experience the 2012 Commencement in a whole new way by volunteering in its flower sales booth.
Graduation ceremonies and flower sales will take place Wednesday through Friday, May 23-25, during three days filled with beaming graduates and their proud relatives.
The Alumni Association sells bouquets and leis to newly minted graduates and their families. Many individuals are hesitant to volunteer at flower sales because they do not feel creative or able to build beautiful bouquets but there is so much to do beyond bouquets. Plus there are always experienced volunteers and staff in the booth to assist. Sales proceeds support the Alumni Association Grants Program, which provides funding to university departments or programs to benefit students.
For more information or to volunteer for flower sales, contact Sally Schiesmayer at 562/985-1606.
Volunteers are also needed for distributing Commencement programs, assisting the platform parties and providing directions to guests on campus. Volunteers are asked to work a minimum of one two-hour time period and should have permission from their supervisor.
