Rose Show Returns May 11Published: May 1, 2012
After a short absence, the popular CSULB Rose Show is back and will be held on Friday, May 11 in the Hall of Science, Room 280.
There will be no judging at this year’s event since it will be held for rose lovers to enjoy. If you would like to participate, bring your your own vases or bottles for displaying your roses.
Upon arriving at the event, participants will be asked to fill out a sheet of paper giving their name, affiliation, and the name of their rose. If you don’t know the name of the rose, it will be placed on a table and “experts” will try to identify it for you.
The room will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for attendees to see and smell the wide variety of roses being exhibited. All roses should be in by 11 a.m. and they can be picked up after 2 p.m. At 3 p.m. all roses not picked up will be disposed of.
Everyone who brings a rose will be given a card to fill out for an opportunity to win a door prize (only one entry per person). The drawing will be at 12:30 p.m. and you must be present in order to win.
Special thanks for support of this event go to Staff Council Special Events Committee, Salco Growers, College of the Arts, Armstrong Garden Centers, Cottage Nursery, Orchard Supply and Hardware, H & H Nursery, Lowe’s, The Home Depot and The University Bookstore.
