CSULB To Host 14th Annual Women And Careers ConferencePublished: March 15, 2012
The 14th annual Women and Careers Conference at CSULB will be held Friday, March 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the campus’ University Student Union (USU) Ballroom.
The keynote speech will be presented by Anne Horter, territory senior vice president of Kohl’s Department Stores. In addition, five successful professional women from a variety of fields will participate in a moderated panel presentation. They will share stories of their successes and challenges, their inspirations and aspirations, their decision making processes and their support systems on their paths to their careers.
Following the panel presentation, there will be a roundtable discussion with the panelists and other professional women assigned to tables to interact with the attendees.
“Our keynote speaker and panelists exemplify this year’s theme: ‘Dream It, Create It,’” said Jeane Caveness, assistant dean of students and coordinator of the Women and Careers Conference. “We want students to be inspired and energized by the stories they will hear, but we also want them to leave with a proactive short-term plan to use campus resources in achieving their career planning objectives.”
Conference details, including speakers and the online registration form, can be found at the Women and Careers website.
The event is coordinated by CSULB’s Women’s Resource Center in conjunction with the Career Development Center, USU Program Council, Associated Students Inc., Associated Students Inc. Recreation, President’s Commission on the Status of Women and Educational Career Services.
