Daffodil Days Fundraiser BeginsPublished: February 15, 2012
The CSULB community can participate in the American Cancer Society’s 2012 Daffodil Days national fundraising campaign to support cancer research and patient services.
Daffodils represent the first flowers of spring and symbolize hope for cancer patients. A variety of daffodil bouquets ranging from $10 to $100 can be ordered until Friday, Feb. 24, for delivery during the week of March 20. Choices also include a Gift of Hope bouquet of daffodils, or a Bear of Hope stuffed teddy bear, anonymously delivered to a cancer patient.
Since 1996, CSULB Staff Council has helped coordinate the campus campaign, which has raised more than $70,000, said campaign coordinator Alma Smith of the Forty-Niner Shops Inc.
In addition to funding medical research, the American Cancer Society supports a variety of services including medical appointment transportation, patient and family support groups, appearance workshops and products, and a 24-hour cancer information hotline.
